About Me
I live on the south coast by the sea and am an artist educator, combining advising schools on art, craft & design in the curriculum and making my own work. I began making and selling my own work in the 90s and since 2008 have been concentrating on ceramics.
I adore colour and pattern and include this in all aspects of my life, whether in my choice of clothes, shoes, bags or in the work I create. I look for interesting shapes, colours and patterns wherever I go and find inspiration in many things - I especially love fashion prints, vintage textiles and ceramics.
These are some, but not all, of my influences:
Celia Birtwell, Clarice Cliff, Jacqueline Groag, Zandra Rhodes, Lucienne Day, Orla Kiely, Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant, Henri Matisse, Marian Mahler, Henry Moore, Patrick Heron, Susie Cooper, Jessie Tait, Marimekko....
